I am the sole
creator of each acrylic and metallic oil painting you see on display. I paint primarily on Canvas and Paper The technique
in the paintings involves layering transparent and opaque glazes, building them slowly over time to produce depth, mystery
and subtle variations of texture. I create to inspire . It is important in my work that I paint intuitively, with no models
or photographs to influence the spontaneity of my inner perceptions as they emerge. I approach the canvas as an abstract painter,
working with divisions of space, shapes and lines, I enjoy the added challenge of using the human figure. I'm also concerned
with the painted surface and take great pains with the brushwork and palette knife to make it look effortless. I try to make
each painting better than the last. Sometimes I succeed. I'm often asked which is my favorite and I reply, "the next
one." I consciously work with technique and composition, but as I review my work I see elements intuitively added to
a subject or inspired idea.

The figures, often
depict women which to me represent the circle of life. For the sake of important elements in a work, I often exaggerate or
distort shapes and lines to enhance the overall flow and composition. As I apply the paint, Sometimes it is a struggle to
not get in the way of the process as it unfolds. It works best if the vision guides me, not I guide it.. My emotional response
to a subject or inspired idea, is my first consideration. I approach each creation with an open attitude, exerting my emotions
and with-out a pre-planned conception which can be both ally and adversary to the process. Very often I find surprising connections
and coincidences especially in a new imagined concept.... My objective is to provide new interpretations of the natural beauty
around us in explained and unexplained ideas. I encourage the viewer to engage with the shapes and movement in the paintings
through my choice of color palettes and imagery.
